Christmas 2017 at Highcliffe House in North Devon.

Christmas at Highcliffe House | Exmoor | North DevonPerfect news for anyone wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of Christmas – Highcliffe House is open for the festive holidays. A first for Highcliffe, we’re open from 22nd December to 2nd January and bookings being taken now.

To keep this festive period more personal and intimate, we’re just opening just 4 of our rooms; Myrtleberry, Summerhouse, Kipscombe & The Cleaves.

What will be different at Highcliffe this Christmas?

Honestly, not that much – we’re keeping it simple.  The house will be beautifully and traditionally decorated to honour the winter season.  Xmas jazz, choral carols and festive scents will fill the halls. And Neal will release the fur throws from hibernation so you can snuggle up on the sofas.

This Winter break is about leaving behind the chaos and madness that so often happens at Xmas time.  After your hearty Highcliffe breakfast you can head out to explore the desolate moors, or see Watersmeet without its Summer canopy – it’s really gorgeous.

Of course Lynton isn’t the buzzing, touristy town you see during the Summer – it’s rather peaceful and more relaxing than you may think.  Several of the most popular restaurants are open during Christmas so there are always places to eat and be merry.

If you’re planning to stay over on Xmas Day then booking your Christmas Dinner in advance would be highly advisable.

Nearer the time we will be publishing a list of places that will be open for Xmas.

Unfortunately the Cliff Railway will not be
open for Christmas as it undergoes it’s annual maintenance during this time.  And even more unfortunately the Oak Room is not open during the Winter – sad news, we know.

Check out our Christmas Break prices here.
