Kipscombe – a truly 5 Star North Devon B&B experience
Looking for romance and drama? Then look no further than the new Kipscombe at Highcliffe House
– a truly 5-star bed and breakfast experience.
Kipscombe is one of the largest rooms, located on the second floor of our gorgeous bed and breakfast.
It has stunning views from the highest aspect of Highcliffe House. From its front facing window you can see uninterrupted views of Lynton and the North Devon, Exmoor coast. On the clearest days you can see the shores of South Wales.
Kipscombe was lovely room, but rather tired. The room was designed to switch between a double and twin room but unfortunately the antique beds were not ideal for this. As a romantic coastal getaway, Highcliffe House caters towards couples who are looking to escape, walk and explore. Neal wanted Kipscombe to look romantic and seductive, so it could stand proudly alongside its first floor kin.
Gorgeous wall coverings
It has been lavishly wall papered with Zophany ‘Brocatello’ wallpaper. This is the most iconic pattern in the Zoffany range. It was originally inspired by a 19th century brocade, woven with metallic yarns and embellished with embroidery. This wallpaper has been printed with light reflective inks and subtle textures to create an extra dimension.
What can we say? It’s probably the most dramatic bed ever seen in our B&B. It’s a stunning reproduction, super king size Versailles bed with carved birds and scrolls. It is handcrafted from solid mahogany and shamelessly covered in gold-leaf bed; all romantically illuminated by Ralph Lauren Home.
The bed is soft furnished with luxurious gold and truffle cushions and throw by Laura Ashley, with pure silk curtains and black out blinds. The soft bedside lighting is from the Ralph Lauren Home collection.
