|Accidents||We understand that things break, spills happen so please don’t be embarrassed. Let us know as soon as possible to allow us to act quickly to rectify the situation.|
|Bar||Highcliffe House is a fully-licensed property with its own fully-stocked bar, which means we are unable to allow guests to drink their own alcohol in any public areas, indoors and out. |
During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Bar drinks are available as table service only.
|Bath Robes||Can be found on the bathroom doors or inside your wardrobe.|
|Breakfast||Breakfast is served between 8.30 am and 9.30am, please note that the kitchen closes at 9.30am for hot food. The buffet will finish at 10am.|
Breakfast Orders Complete the breakfast form and leave either on the landing or lobby tables the night before your breakfast.
|Books||Books are unable until further notice.|
|Check In||Rooms are ready for occupancy from 4pm on the day of arrival.|
|Check Out||Upon departure, please vacate your room by 10.30 am. |
You are welcome to leave your car in the car park until 3pm should you wish to make the most of your last day.
|Chemist||The chemist is located on Lee Road in Lynton, please refer to the Medical Assistance page|
|Car Parking||There is one parking space per room and we ask that you park carefully and neatly so as not to inconvenience other guests.|
Please also keep the turning space unobstructed, this is the area marked with diagonal lines.
Should you feel uncomfortable parking in our car park there is space outside of the main driveway, or a pay and display car park just 5-mins walk from the house.
|Consideration|| If you are returning late please make sure the front door is closed and locked behind you and please be considerate|
of other guests who may already be sleeping.
Please don’t answer the door or let people in whom you don’t know. They may not be guests of Highcliffe House and could create a security risk for you and other guests.
|Credit Cards||Highcliffe House accepts VISA and MasterCard only|
|Doctor||The Health Centre is in the centre of the town by the Fire Station on Burville Street. There is a Pharmacy in Lee Road opposite the Town Hall, next to Costcutter Supermarket.|

|DVD Library||The DVD library is not available until further notice.|
|Duvets and Blankets||If you are hot or cold during the night, we can swap your duvet for a 4, 9.5 or 13.5 Tog. Blankets can be found in your wardrobe or drawers. If you need more, please let us know.|
|Fire Safety||If the fire alarm sounds, please leave the building as quickly and safely as possible via the front door, and await further instructions.|
|Forgotten Items||We keep a small stock of tooth brushes, toothpaste, mouthwash and disposable razors, please ask and we will be happy to supply them free of charge.|
|Games & Cards||These are unable until further notice.|
|Guest Lounge||Open 24-hrs and located just off the lobby.|
|Housekeeping||Bedrooms are cleaned during the morning and we understand you are here to relax and may wish to stay in your room and not be disturbed. Please leave the “Do Not Disturb” sign outside your door so that we can respect your privacy. The hospitality tray will be replenished each day.|
Housekeeping is between 9.30am and 12.30 noon.
|Hot Water Bottle||Can be found in your wardrobe.|
|Ice||Please ring the bell in lobby if you would like ice.|
|Iron & Board||If you would like an iron and ironing board please let us know.|
|Internet||The Wi-Fi is free for you to use and you will find the login details on your Welcome Letter when you arrive in your room.|
|Laundry||Lynton Laundrette offers a service wash or coin-operated machines. Cavendish Place, Lynton near the Vanilla Pod.|

|Milk||Semi-skimmed milk can be found in the fridge in the Guest Lounge. If you prefer Soy or Oat milk please let us know.|
Please use the Hand Sanitiser before opening the fridge.
|Maps||Walking Maps are available on request, please let us know.|
|Payments||Your final bill will be posted under your door the day before you depart, please advise us of any queries immediately. |
Your payment will be automatically taken before 8am on the morning of your departure.
If you have paid a deposit it will be deducted from your final account. Drinks from the bar will be charged on departure. There is no credit for any meals not taken or an early departure.
|Pillows||All pillows are non-feather and hypoallergenic.|
Extra pillows can be found in the wardrobe.
|Restaurants||A list of restaurants can be found in your room.|
|Radiators or Fans||The heating is on in the mornings and evenings, the temperature is adjusted using the thermostat on each radiator. If you need another heater, or a fan, in your room, please let us know.|
|Smoking & Vaping||Highcliffe House is completely non-smoking and non-vaping. It is forbidden to smoke anywhere in the house, on the balcony, outside of bedroom windows or the porch. |
The smoke detectors are highly sensitive and will activate the Fire Alarm from the smallest traces of smoke.
For your safety we have a fire display board which indicates the source of the alarm immediately.
If you wish to smoke or vape, please do so in the comfort of your own car, or outside of the property and grounds.
Please do not litter the grounds with cigarette or cigar waste.
|Telephone||If you can’t get a signal on your mobile phone try using WiFi calling. If you are still experiencing difficulties please let us know.|
|Take-away Food||Eating take-away food in your room is not permitted. |
However, we would be happy to set up a table in the dining room where you can sit in comfort whilst enjoying your evening meal and the view. Please let us know.
|Things to Do and Attractions||A selection of leaflets can be found in your room on arrival. Alternatively visit the 'Discover' section of this website for a selection of walks, things to do and places to eat.|
|Toilets and Flushing||The sewers at Highcliffe are very old, please don’t flush anything other than tissue and natural waste. Anything else will block the toilet immediately and affect your stay.|
|Umbrellas|| Are available just inside the front door for your use when it’s raining. Please do not use these umbrellas in strong windy conditions - especially on the coastal paths.|
If you have used an umbrella please leave this in the lobby so we can sanitise it for the next guest.
|Walks||A list of walks can be found on our website Places to Walk page. Alternatively visit the 'Discover' section of this website for a selection of walks, things to do and places to eat.|
If you would like to discuss or plan a walk, or borrow a map, please let us know.
|Walking Gear||We also thank you for your consideration with muddy footwear around the house. A tray for walking boots is provided in each room. There is a bench in the porch to help you remove muddy footwear when returning to the house.|
|Water||The tap water in your bathroom is perfectly fine for drinking. Additional chilled tap water can be found in the fridge in the Guest Lounge. This is replenished each day. Please leave the glass bottles in your room, they will be collected by the housekeepers.|
Please use the Hand Sanitiser before opening the fridge.
|Windows||Windows at Highcliffe are completely original and unfortunately can rattle when windy. To stop them rattling tighten the screws on the sash and/or use the white wedges provided.|
|Writing Desk||If you would like to work in your room, we can provide a writing desk to help, alternatively you are welcome to use any of the tables in the breakfast dining room.|
