The largest cliffs in England offering the most magnificent views.
Combe Martin is a sleepy little seaside resort and it’s easy to think there’s nothing much to do. If you want a great walk to the top of England’s highest cliff, then head to Combe Martin.
The cliff face of the Great Hangman is approx. 800ft, with the actual summit being over 1000ft. It truly is a stunning area to walk and if you wanted to make it a long walk, you could walk from Combe Martin to Hunter’s Inn along the South West Coastal Path.
If you’re just exploring the Hangman Cliffs then consider also a short walk alongside the rock pools along the beach at Combe Martin, they’re really fascinating. NB: This path can be quite slippy.
